Play the right way

Court etiquette.

All members are asked to read and follow the Pickleball Brantford court etiquette rules. Good etiquette keeps play safe, fair and friendly for everyone.

Read the official rules. The club's complete "Court Etiquette Rules" are available as a document. The guidance below summarises the everyday good manners we all share on court.

On-court basics

Good etiquette, every game

Share the courts

Use the club's paddle rotation system so everyone gets fair, equitable court time.

Play safe

Call "ball on" for stray balls, wait for a pause before crossing behind a court, and watch out for others.

Call lines honestly

Make fair line calls and give opponents the benefit of the doubt. Announce the score clearly before serving.

Be welcoming

Respect every skill level. Encourage newer players and keep the atmosphere positive and inclusive.

Keep it positive

Good sportsmanship always — positive language, no aggression, and a handshake or paddle tap to finish.

Respect the schedule

Honour court reservations, closures and time limits, and leave the courts as you found them.

These points reflect commonly accepted pickleball court etiquette. For the club's official and complete rules, please refer to the etiquette document linked above.

One community, one standard

Etiquette goes hand in hand with our Code of Conduct. Take a moment to read both.
